Contests

There will be many opportunities to show off your beautiful dolls and win valuable prizes!

The following are the general guidelines based on last year. Rules may be subject to change closer to the convention as details are finalized.

You may compete your favorite doll in the following categories:
  • 1/3 scale (approximately 60cm - 90cm) and up
  • 1/4 scale (approximately 30cm - 50cm)
  • Mini scale (approximately 10cm - 30cm)
  • Tiny scale (approximaely 0-10cm)
  • Anthropormorphic (any size)

Due to limited display space, each attendee may submit as many as three entries, total, one entry per category. (For example, you may put an entry in the Handkerchief category, an entry in the Anthropomorphic category, and an entry in the 1/3 scale category, but NOT three entries in the Handkerchief costume category.)

Judging will be by vote of the convention attendees, plus a special workmanship award for original outfits to be judged by a local professional costumer.

Dolls must be in place in the competition area by noon to allow time for judging.

A special award for Best of Show will be a free membership to our next convention (this will not include the convention doll)

Due to space limitations, please note the following rules and guidelines:
  • Attendees will be limited to at most three entries, one entry per category.
  • Each entry may consist of no more than two dolls (eg. a pair of sisters).
  • Also note that we will not have space to display dioramas (a chair or stand that takes up no more space than the doll is not considered to be a diorama.
